Gastric cancer

Gastric cancer was once the second most common cancer in the world. In most developed countries occurrence has declined, (i.e. to number 14 in the US). However, Gastric cancer is the seventh leading cause of cancer deaths in the US, primarily because most patients are diagnosed with advanced disease.
Patients with local disease in early stages can be cured surgically, although adjuvant therapy is often recommended due to high likelihood of local and systemic relapse. Patients with advanced stage or recurrent disease are often treated with chemotherapy. Recent evidence shows the potential of gastric cancer be treated with targeted biological agents.

Target tailored treatment in advanced stages of disease has a significant importance to achieve maximal efficacy with minimal adverse effects. Advantest – Oncotest provides the most up-to-date, comprehensive test battery available for personalized disease diagnosis.
