Pharmacogoenetics

Pharmacogoenetics

Pharmacogenics, as indicated by its name, is a science combining pharmacology (the study of drugs) with genetics (the study of man's heredity). As such, pharmacogenetics knowledge helps physicians to learn the impact of human genetic variations on drug response and allow the physician to make an educated treatment decision, which may potentially improve patient response.

In this way, pharmacogenetics serves to improve the ability of modern medicine to provide patients with treatments that are beneficial while causing as little adverse events as possible.
